Privacy Policy

Thanatide has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. We do not collect, store, or sell your personal information. There is no server holding a profile for you, because there is no profile to hold.

This policy covers the Thanatide mobile application (com.cygnusworks.thanatide) and its desktop builds, published by Cygnus Works.

What is stored, and where

Your progress — campaign completion, inventory, loadout, settings, and local leaderboard scores — is written to storage on your own device. It is not transmitted anywhere. Uninstalling the app deletes it. We have no copy and no way to recover it for you.

The app requests a single Android permission, INTERNET, used only for the two purposes below.

Online co-op

Co-op is peer-to-peer. When you host or join a lobby, a brief connection with a signalling service exchanges the technical details two devices need to find each other — it relays connection setup only, with no game state, no accounts, and no database. Your device then connects directly to the other players' devices.

Because these are direct connections, the other players in your lobby, and the signalling service, can see your IP address. This is inherent to how peer-to-peer networking works and is true of most online multiplayer games. It is used to establish the connection and is not stored, logged for analysis, or shared with anyone. Connections that cannot be made directly are relayed through a server, which passes the encrypted traffic through without inspecting or retaining it.

If you never play co-op, your device never contacts the signalling service.

Updates

The app checks a static file on our update host to see whether a newer version of the game content is available, and downloads it if so. Like any web request, this means our host briefly sees your IP address and device user-agent. We do not use this for tracking, profiling, or analytics.

What we do not do

No advertising, and no advertising identifier is requested or used.
No analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry of any kind.
No accounts, email collection, or sign-in.
No access to location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, or files.
No sale or sharing of personal information with third parties.
No data collected from or about children.

Children

Thanatide is a violent action game intended for adults. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to disclose, correct, or delete on request. The data the game creates lives on your device and is entirely under your control — clear it from within the game's settings, or by uninstalling the app.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date above changes with it, and the updated version is published at this same address.
